Effort and approach to CO₂ reduction
Our problem solving technique revolves around using a set of 7 focus points that have been tried and proven in the workplace to save energy a reduce the production of CO2.
* The 7 focus points are 'Decide, Stop, Fix (review), Reduce, Sort, Change, and Utilize.
Decide

Hydraulic unit in the facility.
- Reduction of electric power by operational standard.
- During the switching of working shifts from day to night, the machines are stopped which results in 2 hours of energy reduced in one day. (CO2 Reduction: 30.1 ton/year)
Stop

The timer and circuit in the transform furnace are modified.
- Reduction of standby power in the furnace transformer.
- The standby power was reduced by modifying the calendar timer and the automatic circuit. (CO2 Reduction: 0.6 ton/year)
Fix

Flickering fluorescent lights (or dead lights) are still consuming electric power.
- Replace defunct light bulbs in order to minimize power usage in unlit working fixtures. (CO2 Reduction: 0.1 ton/year)
Sort
- Reduction of operating time by better configuring the air-conditioning the operation schedule.
- By configuring the time in the cafeteria the air conditioner is needed or not, we can reduce the operation time of the air conditioner. (CO2 Reduction: 13.8 ton /year)

Reduce (decrease)
- Saving energy by lowering pressure to the intake industrial water.
- Energy is saved by reducing pressure to the industrial water supply by decreasing the industrial water pressure on weekends. Electric power from the pump is reduced. (CO2 Reduction: 5.0 ton /year)

Change
- Reduction of the heat radiation loss by weight reduction of the mesh belt in the brazing furnace.
- The mesh belt, as shown below, is lightened by changing the length and diameter of the material. Energy at heating is reduced due to prevention of heat radiation loss at the re-heating. (CO2 Reduction: 13.5 ton/year)

Utilize

The windows in the Production Engineering Plant.
- Skylight ventilation in the plant ceiling.
- Due to the installation of the skylights into the roof, the use of artificial lighting during the daytime is shortened and electric power is reduced. (CO2 Reduction: 0.4 ton/year)
