EXEDY announces business alliance with Aster Co., Ltd. for next generation mobility and environmentally friendly products

To contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050, EXEDY Corporation (headquarters: Neyagawa City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan; hereinafter referred to as “EXEDY”) and Aster Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, Japan; hereinafter referred to as “Aster”), have entered into a capital and business alliance for the development of motors, that will serve as core devices for next-generation mobility and environmentally friendly products.

EXEDY has a 70-year history as a manufacturer specializing in drivetrain components, and provides high-quality products worldwide as a global company with 44 affiliated companies, plants and sales offices in 25 countries, and approximately 16,000 employees.

We will provide the world’s only solution by combining EXEDY’s highly efficient energy transmission and manufacturing technologies, which EXEDY has cultivated over the years since its establishment, with Aster’s creative power and speed as a tech venture. The two companies will work together to innovate and create a revolutionary electric platform, and with the aim of mutually contributing to the resolution of social issues and the realization of carbon neutrality, we will specifically work on the following studies:

1) Drive system for EVs with a high-power, high-efficiency torque converter that achieves unparalleled driving performance
2) EV drive system for motorcycles that achieves both long-range and powerful acceleration
3) Development of other products

EXEDY will accelerate the development of products that contribute to carbon neutrality, create new values, and evolve into a company with an ecosystem where new products are born one after another.
Recently, the company has formulated a long-term vision, long-term goals, and slogan for 2050, along with our contributions to the 2030 SDGs. In particular, with regard to the international issue of “prevention of global warming,” we will promote energy-saving activities, introduce renewable energy, and develop Next Generation Electric Products and Future Products, with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality (virtually zero emissions of greenhouse gases) by 2050.
